People often ask why I founded Ten Ahead. The answer is simple: I saw something missing, and I couldn’t ignore it.
For most of my career, I worked as a Chief of Staff and trusted adviser, close enough to extraordinary lives to see exactly what holds them together, and what threatens, almost imperceptibly, to pull them apart. Organisations have understood the value of this kind of partnership for decades: a single trusted point of contact, dedicated to removing friction and protecting time. What I noticed, again and again, was that this same partnership rarely exists beyond the office, where life is often even more demanding.
The people who spend their lives looking after everyone else are often the ones with nobody looking after them.
That observation became the foundation for everything we do.
The Chief of Life
Ten Ahead was built around a single idea: that people deserve, in life, the same calibre of trusted partnership businesses have long afforded their leaders. I call that partnership a Chief of Life.
Not a concierge, and not lifestyle management as the industry has come to define it, but something more considered: a single point of contact who understands the shape of your world well enough to move through it beside you, and knows instinctively when to step forward and when simply to listen. It is someone who helps you think more clearly, live more intentionally, and carry less alone.
We have never measured our work by the number of impossible requests we’ve fulfilled. We measure it by something far less visible: the moment a member pauses and says, “I hadn’t realised how much I needed that.”
How we work
My background in psychology, paired with nearly two decades working alongside people from every walk of life, taught me one thing above all: no two people experience the world in quite the same way. Some of our members lead global organisations; others are raising families, caring for ageing parents, or simply searching for room to breathe in lives that have become relentlessly full. Every person deserves to be understood before they are supported.
Five years ago, Sarah joined me, and today she leads our Lifestyle Management portfolio. She has become a trusted partner to global executives, private families, and individuals whose lives demand exceptional judgement, discretion, and care. Ten Ahead would be unimaginable without her. We bring different strengths, challenge one another’s thinking, care deeply about the people who place their trust in us, and have a whole lot of fun along the way.

What that looks like
Some days, it is the impossible reservation, the last minute family escape, or specialist healthcare sourced within hours. Other days, the work is less visible: helping a member untangle their thinking, or simply hearing them say, “I don’t know where to start,” and answering, “Leave it with me.” We have learnt that both matter equally. Sometimes the greatest difference we make is giving someone enough clarity to move forward with confidence.
I believe people deserve more space: to think clearly, to make good decisions, to be fully present with the people they love, and to enjoy everything they have worked so hard to build. That, to me, is what a Chief of Life offers: the confidence that someone else is holding a piece of the weight, and the freedom to be present in your own life, rather than simply managing it.
